Dolores varsity football lost 19-22 at Norwood on Saturday afternoon, three points short in an 8-Man Mountain league game that kicked off at 1 p.m.

Three facts about Saturday’s game at Norwood. Dolores lost 19-22, a three-point margin. The Bears are 4-4 overall for the 2026 season. Dolores is 0-3 in 8-Man Mountain league play, with one league game left, at Del Norte on October 31. Graphic: Cortez Current. Source: MaxPreps

It is the closest the Bears have come in league play this autumn. Their two earlier conference games were decided by nineteen points and thirty-four; this one turned on a single score.

The loss leaves Dolores 4-4 for the year and 0-3 in the league. The four wins all came in the first half of the season, against Plateau Valley, Rangely, Escalante of New Mexico and Custer County; the four defeats are a non-conference trip to Monticello in September and the three league games since the start of October.

One fixture is left on the regular-season card. Dolores travels to Del Norte on Saturday, October 31, with a 1 p.m. start — the same early kickoff the team has had for its last two road trips, and the last chance to put a mark in the league column.
