The Colorado High School Activities Association released its girls volleyball regional brackets on Monday, and Dolores will host one of them. The Bears are the No. 7 seed in Class 2A and have been given Region 7, a three-team tournament at Dolores High School on Saturday against No. 18 North Fork and No. 30 Front Range Christian.

The bracket gives 11 a.m. for the first match, Dolores against Front Range Christian. It lists the other two matches — North Fork against Front Range Christian, and Dolores against North Fork — without start times.
Dolores comes in at 21-2 for the season and 8-0 in the San Juan Basin league, counted from the results feed this site publishes, and has won its last 15 matches. The two losses were both on September 12, to Ignacio and Vail Christian, each in five sets.
Regionals have to be finished by Saturday, the association says. It releases the state brackets on Monday, November 9, and the state championships run November 12 to 14.
The other two schools
Neither Montezuma-Cortez nor Mancos appears in any of the five classifications’ regional fields. Each class has 12 regions of three teams, so 36 seeds per classification, and neither school is among them.
Mancos finished its San Juan Basin league tournament on October 31 with straight-set wins over Dove Creek and Nucla.
Where to check
The bracket is CHSAA’s own, at chsaanow.com, and the association is the authority on the postseason. Results from all three schools as they come in are on the Current’s scoreboards page. Records here are counted from that feed, which draws on MaxPreps.
