It was the Bears’ widest margin since a 40-8 home win over Escalante on September 18, and their only league win of the year. The three league games before it were all losses — at home to Mancos on October 2, at home to Sanford on October 16 and on the road at Norwood on October 24, the last of those by three points. That leaves Dolores at one win and three losses in league play.

Across the whole season the Bears played nine games and won five. The four losses were to Monticello, Mancos, Sanford and Norwood; the wins were over Plateau Valley, Rangely, Escalante, Custer County and now Del Norte. Saturday’s kickoff was listed for 1 p.m. at Del Norte High School.

No further fixtures are listed for the team. The Colorado High School Activities Association’s football bracket page puts the seeding meeting for every classification except 2A on Sunday, November 1, with semifinals in the 6-man, 8-man, 1A and 2A classes on Saturday, November 21 and those state championships on November 27 and 28. As of Saturday evening the page showed no bracket released in any class but 2A, where the first round was listed as under way.

Results come from MaxPreps by way of the Current’s scoreboards page.
