County commissioners pass on HR software, approve July bills
Minutes from three recent Montezuma County commission meetings show the board declining an HR software purchase, approving nearly $4 million in July payables and postponing a land-use hearing.
Montezuma County has posted minutes from three recent meetings of the Board of County Commissioners. All three commissioners, Chairman Jim Candelaria, Vice Chairman Kent Lindsay and Gerald Koppenhafer, attended each one. Here is what the minutes record.
August 31 special meeting
The board met to hear about a proposed purchase of iSolved human resources software. After a presentation from the county’s HR manager and finance director, the minutes say the commissioners agreed not to go ahead with the purchase for now. No other action was taken.
September 1
- Approved a consent agenda that included a budget adjustment for an IT Department hardware purchase and a letter of support for a Colorado Parks and Wildlife non-motorized trail grant.
- Approved a festival permit for Mancos Brewing Company for September 25 and 26, from noon to 10 p.m.
- Approved a retail liquor license for UPOP Holdings, doing business as Hilltop Package Liquor (Store #48), on Highway 184 near Dolores.
September 8
- Paid the July bills. The board approved the July 2026 accounts payable report, totaling $3,965,544.67.
- Postponed a hearing. A public hearing on the Freeman-Likes single-lot development amendment was postponed because of an error in the published hearing notice.
- Approved a special event liquor permit for the Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society for an October 3 event on Highway 160 near Cortez.
- Authorized the chairman to sign a federal highway utility certification.
- Approved a survey proposal for a right-of-way crossing near Mancos for the Paths to Mesa Verde trail project.
Each motion carried, according to the minutes, which do not list individual votes.
