Panther boys soccer closes league play unbeaten with a 6-0 win over Bayfield

Montezuma-Cortez finished 6-0 in the league and 12-3 overall after Tuesday's home win. No result has been posted for the junior varsity match that followed.

Montezuma-Cortez varsity boys soccer beat Bayfield 6-0 at home on Tuesday afternoon, a league game that leaves the Panthers unbeaten in league play.

It was the team’s sixth league win in six league games and its 12th win of the season against three defeats. The shutout also answered a 3-0 loss at Grand Junction Central four days earlier, which had been the Panthers’ first defeat since late August.

MaxPreps lists a junior varsity match against Bayfield at 5:40 p.m. the same evening and has posted no result for it.

The feed behind this site’s scoreboards page carries no further soccer fixtures for Montezuma-Cortez. The school’s own October calendar lists one event left this month, an away football game at Delta on Friday, and its November calendar is empty.

Scores and records come from MaxPreps. The week-by-week and full-season tables for all three county schools are on the Cortez Current scoreboards page, and Montezuma-Cortez results are on the Panthers’ MaxPreps page.
