Dolores volleyball needs five sets to beat Sanford and stay 7-0 in league
Varsity volleyball is 17-2 and has yet to drop a league match this autumn. Football was beaten 22-56 at home by Sanford on the same afternoon.
Friday afternoon in Dolores belonged to the volleyball court rather than the football field. The Bears’ varsity volleyball side went the full five sets with Sanford and came out 3-2 ahead; two hours later the football team was beaten 22-56 by the same school. Dolores played seven times in the week of October 12 and won four.

Volleyball
Tuesday took the Bears to Dove Creek, where the varsity won in straight sets, 3-0, and the junior varsity did the same, 2-0. Both counted in the league table.
Friday’s three home matches against Sanford did not. The varsity came through a five-setter 3-2, the junior varsity won 2-0, and the freshman side went down 1-2.
That leaves the varsity 17-2 for the season with a league record of 7-0 — no league defeats so far. The junior varsity stands at 12-3, and 4-0 in league; the freshman team is 0-2.
