Sanford blanks Dolores JV football; a late JV volleyball win is posted

The junior varsity footballers lost 0-20 at home on Saturday morning, and MaxPreps has belatedly added a volleyball win at Dove Creek from Tuesday.

Dolores High School’s junior varsity football team was shut out 0-20 at home by Sanford in a league game that kicked off at 8:45 on Saturday morning.

It was only the second junior varsity football result of the Dolores season, leaving that side at 1-1; the first was a 40-8 home win over Monticello on September 22. A third fixture, against Mancos on October 5, still has no posted score.

Separately, MaxPreps has since added a junior varsity volleyball result from Tuesday, October 13 that was missing when this site reported on that trip: Dolores won 2-0 at Dove Creek in a league match. Counting it, the junior varsity volleyball side stands at 12-3 overall and 4-0 in league play.

Ahead for the Bears: volleyball at Telluride on Thursday, October 22, with the varsity at 4 p.m. and the junior varsity at 4:30 p.m., and varsity football at Norwood on Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m.

Results and season figures come from MaxPreps; the full county table is on the scoreboards page.
