Panther volleyball drops a mid-week trip to Grand County
Montezuma-Cortez won a set and lost the match 1-3 on Wednesday night, its only game since Saturday. The varsity is 5-15-1 for the season.
Montezuma-Cortez volleyball travelled to Grand County on Wednesday evening and came home with a 1-3 defeat, its first outing since Centauri swept the Panthers at home on Saturday.
The fixture carries no league weight, so the varsity’s league record is unchanged at 0-7. Across all opponents it now stands at 5-15-1. The last meeting between the two schools went the other way: Montezuma-Cortez beat Grand County 3-2 in Cortez on August 26.
Wednesday’s trip is not listed on the high school’s published calendar, and no junior varsity or C-team score from it has been posted. Everything above is drawn from MaxPreps, the feed behind this site’s scoreboards page, which reloads several times a day.
Home volleyball resumes on Saturday, October 17 against Alamosa. It is senior night, and the school has the C, junior varsity and varsity matches down as a single block from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The night before, on Friday, October 16, varsity football is at home to Basalt at 7 p.m.
Earlier Panther results are collected in the scoreboard for the week of October 5, and the running table for all three county schools is on the scoreboards page. Season figures are counted from the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers page on MaxPreps.
