Dolores volleyball wins four straight at home and stays unbeaten in league

The Bears' volleyball teams went 4-0 at home over the week. Varsity football lost its league opener to Mancos.

Dolores High School played every one of its games at home last week and won four of the five. The volleyball program went 4-0 across varsity and JV, and the varsity team is now 12-2 overall and 4-0 in league play. The one loss was in varsity football, which fell to Mancos in its league opener.

Dolores results for the week of September 28: volleyball JV won 2-0 and varsity won 3-0 at home against Montezuma-Cortez on Sept. 28; football varsity lost 13-32 at home to Mancos on Oct. 2 in a league game; volleyball varsity won 3-0 at home against Ignacio on Oct. 3 in a league match and won 3-1 at home against Sargent the same day. Volleyball

The varsity team swept Montezuma-Cortez 3-0 at home on Monday, September 28, and the JV team won 2-0 on the same night. On Saturday, October 3 the varsity team played twice at home, beating Ignacio 3-0 in a league match and Sargent 3-1. Varsity volleyball is 12-2 overall and 4-0 in league; JV is 5-2 overall and 2-0 in league.

Football

Mancos beat the Bears 32-13 at Dolores on Friday, October 2 in a league game. Dolores is 4-2 overall and 0-1 in league. Our story on that game is here.

Next at home

JV football hosts Mancos on Monday, October 5 at 5 p.m. Varsity volleyball is at home on Thursday, October 8, against Ouray at 4:30 p.m. in a league match and Crested Butte at 6:30 p.m. The next home varsity football game is Friday, October 16 against Sanford at 2 p.m.
