Mancos points flood-hit residents to relief fund and food share
The town says the Pay It Forward Fund can help Mancos Valley residents hit by the flooding, and that Mancos United is coordinating water distribution for rural water customers at Mancos Brewing Company.
The following community update from the Town of Mancos, posted November 4, 2026, reads as follows:
COMMUNITY UPDATE – Assistance Available
The Town of Mancos would like to inform residents that Pay It Forward Fund, a project of Mancos Valley Resources, is available to assist Mancos residents affected by the recent flooding.
Volunteers established this fund to support Mancos Valley residents in need of financial support as a result of unexpected medical challenges or personal hardships that have created financial difficulties.
To apply please visit: The Pay It Forward Fund – Mancos Valley Resources.
In addition, The Mancos FoodShare is open to all community members on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 3-5pm at Mt. Lookout Grange.
Please call the MVR Office at 970-394-4147 with any questions.
Additional Community Support – Mancos United
Mancos United is assisting Mancos Rural Water customers affected by the current water outage by coordinating water distribution efforts at Mancos Brewing Company.
Thank you to Mancos Valley Resources and everyone working to support our community during this time.
The update is on the Town of Mancos website. The notice names the fund’s application page but gives no web address for it; Mancos Valley Resources can be reached on the phone number above. Montezuma County Emergency Management said earlier Wednesday that about 653 Mancos Rural Water customers were without water after a main line broke, with no estimate for repairs, and that water on affected properties must be boiled before use. The town’s own water system is not affected.
