Panther JV softball wins one of three in a road triple-header

Montezuma-Cortez JV softball played three games in a day at the Columbine Softball Fields, beating Grand Junction Central and losing narrowly to Grand Junction.

Montezuma-Cortez JV softball packed three non-league games into Tuesday at the Columbine Softball Fields and came away with one win, losing the opener and then falling by a run in the last game of the day.

Softball

The JV team lost 2-9 to Fruita Monument at 11 a.m., beat Grand Junction Central 10-5 at 12:30 p.m., and lost 2-3 to Grand Junction at 2 p.m. All three were away games and none counted in the league standings. The JV team is 6-4 on the season.

The varsity team did not play Tuesday. It is 13-7 overall and 6-2 in league after Monday’s home doubleheader against Rifle.

Montezuma-Cortez softball is back at home on Saturday, October 10 for a varsity doubleheader against Cedaredge, starting at noon.
