Dolores looks for volunteers on two town boards

The Parks Advisory Committee has an open seat with an October 30 deadline, and the Community Center Advisory Board is looking for a member as well.

The Town of Dolores posted notices Wednesday looking for residents to fill seats on two town advisory bodies.

The Dolores Parks Advisory Committee has one vacancy. The committee meets monthly, on the second Thursday at 6 p.m., and its work is planning improvements to the town’s parks system. The seat covers the remainder of a term that runs to 2027, plus the two years after that, and the appointment is made by the Board of Trustees. Applicants must be at least 18 and live inside the town limits. The town asks for a letter of interest to Town Manager Leigh Reeves at leigh@townofdolores.com by October 30, with the appointment set for November 9. The notice is also scheduled to run in the Cortez Journal on October 16.

The Dolores Community Center Advisory Board is looking for a community member to serve as well. That board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. People interested are asked to send a short letter of interest to friendsofdcc@gmail.com or drop it off at Dolores Town Hall, 601 Central Avenue. The notice sets no deadline.

The town is separately still taking applications for an open seat on the Board of Trustees itself, which we covered when that notice went up.

Both notices are on the town’s press release page at townofdolores.colorado.gov. Town Hall’s number is 970-882-7720.
