Dolores accepts applications for open trustee seat
A seat on the Board of Trustees opens October 1 with the resignation of Trustee Linnea Peterson. The town will take applications through the end of October and appoint a replacement in November.

TOWN OF DOLORES — NOTICE OF TRUSTEE VACANCY
Applications Accepted October 1-29, 2026
The Town of Dolores is accepting applications from qualified residents interested in serving on the Dolores Board of Trustees. A vacancy on the Board of Trustees is effective October 1, 2026, following the resignation of Trustee Linnea Peterson.
The Board intends to fill the vacancy by appointment. The individual appointed will serve until the next regular municipal election and until a successor is elected and qualified, as provided by Colorado law.

Applicant Eligibility. Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the date of appointment; be a registered elector; have resided continuously within the Town of Dolores for at least twelve (12) consecutive months immediately preceding the date of appointment; and meet all Colorado law qualifications for municipal elective office.
How to Apply. Completed applications must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
Note on the deadline. The town’s website notice, above, gives the deadline as 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29. A flyer the town posted on its Facebook page the same day gives the application period as October 1 through October 28 at 5 p.m. Anyone planning to apply should confirm the deadline with Dolores Town Hall at 970-882-7720 before relying on either date.
