County sets October 6 public meeting with administrator finalist
Montezuma County has named Michael Rime as the finalist for county administrator and will introduce him to residents and county employees at a public event at the commissioners' meeting room.
The following is a public notice from Montezuma County, posted September 29, 2026.
On September 22nd, the Board of County Commissioners announced Mr. Michael Rime has been selected as the finalist for the position of County Administrator.
A public event to introduce community members and Montezuma County employees to Mr. Rime has been scheduled for October 6, 2026. The event will be held at the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners meeting room (109 West Main Street, Room 250, Cortez) and will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners will also be in attendance.
At the event, community members will have the opportunity to learn more about Mr. Rime and to provide input to decision-makers in the hiring process. An itinerary for the event is as follows:
- 6:00 – 6:15 p.m. – Mr. Rime will introduce himself.
- 6:15 – 6:30 p.m. – Mr. Rime will answer questions from attendees. Individuals asking questions will be limited to 1 minute.
- 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Informal Meet-and-Greet.
- 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. – Public Comment. Commenters will be limited to 3 minutes each.
Those unable to attend will be able to watch the live broadcast of the event or a recording on the Montezuma County YouTube channel.
