Mabel Colleen Smith

Colleen Smith of Dolores died October 12, 2026, shortly before her 93rd birthday on November 23.

She grew up in Pyote, Texas, where she won a state tennis championship, and met her husband, Billy Ray Smith, in 1952. They were married for 68 years before his death. She was a member of Dolores Southern Baptist Church and served for many years with the Women’s Missionary Union of Colorado, including at the national level.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorris and Andrew Jackson, and by four siblings. She is survived by her son, Mike, and his wife, Barb; her brother, Alton Jackson, and his wife, Lisa; her sister, Eudell Votroubek; and her grandchildren.

A celebration of life is planned for the spring of 2027. The funeral home’s services listing gives Dolores Southern Baptist Church, 100 21st Street, Dolores, as the location and does not give a date.
