Daniel Glenn Valverde

Daniel Glenn Valverde of Dolores died October 11, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born August 10, 1946, in Aiken, South Carolina, to Dan and Francis Valverde, and was raised in Deming, New Mexico.

He attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas, and received a pharmaceutical degree from the University of New Mexico. He worked as a pharmacist for 27 years at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, spending his last five years there at the university’s Children’s Psychiatric Center. He and his wife, Yvonne, married in 1973 and moved to Colorado in 2000. He worked in Shiprock, New Mexico, for a few years and then for nearly 20 years at the Walmart pharmacy in Cortez, retiring in 2019.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 15 at 2 p.m. at Cortez First United Methodist Church, 515 N. Park Street, Cortez.
